Green Everything For Your Home
Sat, 11/29/2008 - 21:10 — AdministratorGreen home, Inc. first started in 1999 and has continued to succeed as the longest lasting environmental store and resource center on the internet. Located in the Richmond District of San Francisco, our main office is still technically in the original garage space, although there is a mystical spaceship atmosphere within the garage as we suspend ourselves in the endless universe of the internet in search of better ways to improve our planet.
In the beginning there was a simple question "What does it mean to be Green?" This expanded to extensive ongoing discussions among some of the nations' foremost environmental scientist, writers and thinkers. Evolving in the image of Green Home's founder, Lawrence Axil Comras, these discussions transformed into a useable collection of information and eco-friendly products for everyone to have as an all-in-one green resource on the web.
Brought together through an extraordinary series of serendipitous meetings, this core group continues to attract like-minded others while evolving and expanding across the country to educate and supply every household with natural eco-friendly product options for the good of our planet.
Green Home, Inc. is not just about selling environmentally friendly products but about education consumers. We are constantly expanding our library of eco-conscious information to explore the latest green trends, find the best green products available and personally and professionally test it before offering it to you. We are very proud of your decision to choose Green Home and to go green!

National Bio-Diesel Board
Sat, 11/29/2008 - 21:16 — AdministratorThe NBB is the national trade association representing the biodiesel industry as the coordinating body for research and development in the US. It was founded in 1992 by state soybean commodity groups, who were funding biodiesel research and development programs. Since that time, the NBB has developed into a comprehensive industry association, which coordinates and interacts with a broad range of cooperators including industry, government, and academia. NBB's membership is comprised of state, national, and international feedstock and feedstock processor organizations, biodiesel suppliers, fuel marketers and distributors, and technology providers.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the National Biodiesel Board is to advance the interests of its members by creating sustainable biodiesel industry growth. NBB serves as the industry's central coordinating entity and will be the single voice for its diverse membership base. Industry growth will be achieved through public affairs, communications, technical, and quality assurance programs. We are dedicated to inclusiveness and integrity.
Vision 2015:
Our vision of the future is that by 2015, biodiesel will be viewed as an integral component of a national energy policy which increasingly relies on clean, domestic, renewable fuels. Positive market dynamics coupled with federal counter-cyclical policy will support a significant and stable market. Sales, primarily in the form of low level biodiesel blends, will replace 5% of diesel demand by 2015. Energy security and environmentally driven uses, such as B20, remain a significant and visible source of demand. Grassroots involvement remains a strong and vital strength of the industry.

Organic Consumers Association
Sat, 11/29/2008 - 22:11 — AdministratorThe Organic Consumers Association (OCA) is an online and grassroots non-profit 501(c)3 public interest organization campaigning for health, justice, and sustainability. The OCA deals with crucial issues of food safety, industrial agriculture, genetic engineering, children's health, corporate accountability, Fair Trade, environmental sustainability and other key topics. We are the only organization in the US focused exclusively on promoting the views and interests of the nation's estimated 50 million organic and socially responsible consumers.
The OCA represents over 850,000 members, subscribers and volunteers, including several thousand businesses in the natural foods and organic marketplace. Our US and international policy board is broadly representative of the organic, family farm, environmental, and public interest community.
The Organic Consumers Association was formed in 1998 in the wake of the mass backlash by organic consumers against the U.S. Department of Agriculture's controversial proposed national regulations for organic food. Through the OCA's SOS (Safeguard Organic Standards) Campaign, as well as the work of our allies in other organizations, the organic community over the last eight years has been able to mobilize hundreds of thousands of consumers to pressure the USDA and organic companies to preserve strict organic standards. In its public education, network building, and mobilization activities such as its Breaking the Chains campaign, OCA works with a broad range of public interest organizations to challenge industrial agriculture, corporate globalization, and the Wal-Martization of the economy, and inspire consumers to "Buy Local, Organic, and Fair Made."
OCA's overall political program is the Organic Agenda 2005-15, a six-point platform calling for:
*
The conversion of American agriculture to at least 30% organic by the year 2015, including major reforms in agricultural subsidies and appropriations to help family farmers make the transition to organic, develop local and regional markets, and adopt renewable energy practices.
*
Fair Trade and economic justice, not so-called corporate-driven "Free Trade" as the global norm.
*
A global moratorium on genetically engineered foods and crops.
*
A phase-out of the most dangerous industrial agriculture and factory farming practices.
*
Universal health care with an emphasis on prevention, nutrition, and wellness promotion.
*
Energy independence and the conversion of US and global agriculture, transportation, and utilities to conservation practices and renewable energy.
Our website, publications, research, and campaign staff provide an important service for hundreds of thousands of consumers and community activists every month. Our media team provides background information, interviews, and story ideas to television and radio producers and journalists on a daily basis - from national television networks to the alternative press.
